Last Week :(

Its already almost over! Just a few more days until we head back home! We're all so sad to leave after all the memories, friendships, and adventures that have been made this month. But even though we have a few more days left they have been filled with a lot of fun.
Sunday we went to St Paul de Vence and had free time there, it was a beautiful city! Everyone loved it there.
Monday we went to St Tropez and went to the beach and shopping! Everyone was amazed by how beautiful and luxurious the place was.
Tuesday we began to work on our skits for the Talent Show on Thursday, then went to St Jean Cap to chill at the beach for a bit then to cook dinner at the Fregate hotel.

Third Week, almost over! :(

It is very surprising and sad how fast these past 3 weeks have gone by! It feels like the first day was just yesterday and it is already the last day of the 3rd week!!
On Monday we had a regular day, that night we watched a French Movie ''Le Concert'' outside near the beach. Which was a bit difficult to understand but everyone ended up getting used to it.
Tuesday after classes it began to rain the whole day so instead of playing Petanque (a french ball game similar to kickball) we decided to all stay in the residence for a while. Then after cooking groups a few of us went out for latin dancing again, which ended up being really fun!
Wednesday night we went out bowling and had a few competitions between which teams would get the higher score which was entertaining. After bowling a few played billiards while other got ice cream.
Thursday after classes we went out to St Jean Cap hoping to be able to go kayaking but the wind and swarm of jellyfish interrupted those plans so instead we laid out on the beach and others played soccer and volleyball. Later we had cooking groups at the hotel "Fregate" again then headed back to Nice.
Friday after classes we headed out to Antibes to see the Picasso museum which was beyond beautiful . Then went back to Nice to have dinner and Temps Libre (free time) and a few of the group went to the Justin Nozuka concert which was very good and entertaining.
Saturday we went to San Remo, Italy and had free time there for a while then went back to the residence. We ate dinner at a restaurant all together including the other group so we were a very big, loud, and overwhelming group.  Then we had free time in Cours Saleya

Fun Filled Weekend!

This week was extremely busy and exciting! After going to the promenade in Cagnes on Wednesday we visited St Laurent du Var on Thursday and went shopping! While some people stayed shopping at the Cap 3000, others went to the beach or did both! After that we had dinner at the residence and then celebrated Bastille day out by the beach in Nice! It was such a great and fun night, everyone really enjoyed themselves!
Friday it was a normal day with classes and electives and then we went out for our surprise, which was to see the last Harry Potter movie. We met up with the St Laurent kids and watched the movie.
Saturday we went off to Cannes! It was such an amazing and beautiful city! We got free time when we first got there and everyone explored for a bit. Later we met up for lunch then got more free time. Most people went to the beach and others went shopping.
Sunday we got up extremely early to head off to Monaco with the St Laurent camp as well. The weather was very nice and windy but then it started to rain. We went on a tour of the Palace, Napoleon museum, and of the aquarium. It was all very interesting and pretty.

First Week

So it has been more than a whole week that we have all been here and it feels like it has been a month! We all have gotten really close these past few days and all the activities and trips that we go on together make it all worth while and fun.
Last Saturday we went to the beach in Nice and rollerbladed and rode bicycles. A few had trouble with rollerblading but it was a great time at the beach.
The Sunday after that we went to Villefranche and went to the beach again. While we were there we went snorkeling, which ended up being much more difficult than everyone thought it would be, but we got to see an octopus which ended up being worth the intense swimming with difficult goggles and huge body swim suits. After that exhausting adventure we had dinner and returned to Nice realizing how important sunscreen is, especially after going to the beach 3 days in a row.
Monday was a normal day, breakfast and class in the morning, free time, cooking groups, and free time in Cours Saleya. It was nice to take a break from the beach that day.
Tuesday we went back to St Jean Cap for the beach, everyone was still pretty burnt from the past few days so we all laid back in the shade the whole time hiding from the sun. After the beach we had cooking groups and made lasagna.
Today we had class and electives, free time for an hour, the staff made us all dinner which was very good, and then we went off to Cagnes to see fireworks and see this local band have a concert on the beach there. The celebration was for tomorrow which is Bastille Day. It was a very fun and exciting night!

First Few Days

So getting here took a while but it gave everyone a chance to get to know each other. Everyone gets along pretty well and everyone is generally nice. The flights here was very long and exhausting. It was the longest amount of time I have ever spent up in the air. Once we got to the hotel the camp leaders told us the main points about this camp and the rules etc. We got delicious pizza which tasted so good after eating all the gross airplane food. Then after a mini tour of the city of Nice we all took well needed showers. Classes, electives and special activities help us all get to know each other more which helps make the trip more fun. During classes and breaks we go out into the city and explore and have conversations with the locals. So far we've explored the whole city. Such as the market, Garibaldi square, other squares, old Nice, downtown, the beach, and the port. The views here are incredibly beautiful. We went to a Latin festival in the plaza near downtown and we all learned how to dance salsa with a big group of people there. It was so much fun dancing with some people from the group and it definitely helped us get closer. Also the other night we cooked in groups of three in our own dorms, it was VERY messy but also fun. Right now we just finished classes and are going off to Plage a St Jean Cap, which is a beach at St Jean :) very excited to spend the whole day there and eat some more food!
